Drs. Diane and Patrick Healey have been partners in life for over 40 years. From their first meeting at Indiana University Medical School - where dates meant studying together - to internal medicine residencies at St. Vincent Hospital, and travel to Nottingham, England where, together, they completed their geriatric fellowship year at Queen's Medical Centre, they have been a team.
After their geriatric fellowship, the doctors Healey returned to St. Vincent to start their practice. Originally the Institute on Aging, now the Center for Healthy Aging, their practice focused on the clinical and social needs of aging community members and their families.
Over the years, Dr. Diane was medical director for the Ascension St. Vincent Hospital Center for Healthy Aging and Dr. Pat was the fellowship director for the Ascension St. Vincent Hospital Center for Healthy Aging geriatric fellowship program. Their clinical practice included inpatient hospital care, nursing home care, and a thriving outpatient service, including geriatric assessments. In addition to their clinical practice, Dr. Diane and Dr. Pat were ardent educators—of students and professionals—and were intimately involved in program development for their St. Vincent-based practice.
Dr. Diane and Dr. Pat have formed Healeys on Aging Consulting, LLC to continue their passion for educating the health care profession and the community on the many topics surrounding aging. Particularly, their focus is on the "4Ms" of age-friendly care.
The Healeys married during medical school. They have three wonderful, grown children, who have mirrored their parents' love of fitness, food, and travel. As newly retired individuals, both Healeys have expanded their knowledge of personal aging exponentially, while also helping to care for their aging mothers.
Prior to meeting at Indiana University, Dr. Diane earned her undergraduate degree from Purdue University and Dr. Pat earned his undergraduate degree at Wabash College, followed by his master's in education at Indiana University.
